At NCG we make use of a wide range of homestay hosts to offer homestay accommodation, which offers you a “home away from home”, and residential accommodation providers for those who want to be independent and meet lots of new people.
Wherever you choose to live, you can feel confident that we will ensure that you are in a safe, secure and friendly environment.
‘A home away from home’
Living with an Irish host is the best way to get a deep insight into Irish culture and to be always practising your English language skills with native speakers. Many of our students develop great relationships with their homestay hosts truly becomes a ‘home away from home’
This is a very popular choice of accommodation because most of our host families live in the Dun Laoghaire borough. It is also fantastic value for money, you don’t have to worry about cooking your meals and you can practise English with your hosts, so it’s guaranteed to boost your language learning too. You will experience the Irish way of life and make new friends – many of our students stay in contact with their host families for years after they have left the school. All our families are within a 25 minute radius of the school (walking or public transport).
By living with native speakers, the only language that you will speak at home is English. Not only will you get the opportunity to practices everything you learn in the classroom, you will also learn how to speak English like a native speaker.
Living with a host is a comfortable and relaxing experience where you will be able to study and relax without getting distracted.
You will be living as an Irish person whilst staying with your homestay hosts. You will take part in every-day activities with your host such as eating and home activities
By living in residential accommodation, you will be living amongst students from all over the world! Our residential accommodation providers are within walking distance from the NCG school and are perfect for someone looking to make new friends whilst enjoying independence during their studies. If you choose to book residential accommodation, you will receive confirmation of your residence two weeks before your course start date.
Many students choose this option because they want a simple, cost effective but fun and culturally diverse accommodation option. We use Marina House Hostel as our local partner. It is clean, newly decorated and only a 20 minute walk from the school.
There is a manager on duty at all times to ensure that everything runs smoothly and the hostel is within walking distance to the ferry port and the DART, Dublin’s local train system, which provides easy access to the city centre (15 mins) and many scenic areas along the coast of Dublin and County Wicklow. If you would like to book a female only room, please specify this at the time of booking. All rooms are spacious, clean and comfy with central heating and locker space to keep your belongings. There are weekly social events such as BBQs, international dinners etc. Wireless internet is available with a weekly charge to be paid to the hostel directly.
Ncg’s students come from many different countries, therefore you will get the opportunity to meet students from all over the world.
By living in residential accommodation you will get to enjoy your own privacy and independence
We always make sure that the residential accommodation is located as close to the NCG school as possible to ensure that travelling to and from the college is as easy as possible.
You will be living in the same residence as students that all share your goal, to speak English! This is a great opportunity to practice and achieve your goals together
