NCG Manchester is based in the city centre, close to attractions such as Piccadilly Gardens, the Arndale shopping centre and the Manchester Cathedral. We’ve prepared the following information to help you arrive safety and comfortably in the city centre ahead of your studies.
We have collated the following information to help support you in getting from the airport to either your accommodation or the school. If you require any further information, or if you would like help booking a transfer, please speak to the admissions team.
By arranging an airport pick-up via taxi service, you will be taken directly from the airport to your accommodation or the college (depending when you arrive). Please speak to the admissions team at least 2 weeks ahead of your arrival in Manchester if you would like to arrange this.
In addition, approved black taxi services can be found outside the airport. Please note, these may be more expensive than a pre-arranged service and we highly recommend you speak to admissions before leaving your country of origin to discuss taxi travel options.
The train runs directly from Manchester Airport through to the city centre, and is available throughout the day and night. After leaving the arrivals hall, follow the signs for the train station, buy your ticket from the machine or ticket office, and board the train for Manchester Piccadilly. This will take you to the city centre, and just a 5 minute walk from NCG Manchester.

NCG Manchester is based on Portland Street, a popular and central area of the city. It is easily accessible on foot or by bus, tram or train.
The nearest train station to NCG Manchester is Manchester Piccadilly, which has a large variety of services from all areas of the local region and beyond. Several other stations are also located within a 15-20 minute walk of the school.
There are bus stops in all directions surrounding NCG Manchester, making your daily travel to school via coach a very convenient option. To plan your bus journey, please visit the TfGM website.
With links from Altrincham, Manchester Airport, Stretford, Bury and more, the tram provides an excellent and affordable way to travel in and around Manchester.
Based in such a central location within the city, NCG Manchester is within walking distance of the city’s main attractions and is easily accessible by foot.
