Free Things To Do Whilst Studying In Liverpool

Being a student is one of the best times of your life but it can also be one of the tightest when it comes to money. If you’re studying at our English language school in Liverpool, you’ll no doubt want to explore the city and see what it has to offer.

To keep the costs down we’ve collected some of the best free things to do whilst studying in Liverpool.

    Visit Museum & Art Galleries

One of the best things about Liverpool is the amount of amazing museums and art galleries that are available in the city. Even better – they’re all pretty much free to enter. Some specific events and exhibitions do require a fee but you can still look around the rest of the museum or art gallery for free. The great thing about visiting museums and art galleries is that you get an education for free! Some brilliant places to visit include the Maritime Museum, Open Eye Gallery, World Museum, The Beatles Story, Tate Liverpool and Walker Art Gallery.

    Do Your Own Walking Tour

Liverpool has a wealth of history, culture and architecture for you to enjoy and most of it can be found on foot or by jumping on public transport. The Hope Street cultural area has two beautiful cathedrals to visit, if it’s a nice day you can take a stroll along Otterspool Promenade, take a look at the Superlambanana or just get lost in the city.

    Attend a Festival

There’s always something bold, creative and fun to do in Liverpool. It’s a festival city and there are so many free events you can enjoy. There’s the Liverpool International Music Festival (LIMF), Mersey River Festival, Liverpool Biennial and many more to explore.

    Go To The Beach

If the sun is shining and it is quite warm outside, why not head to the beach? It’s a lovely and free way to spend the day. Pack a lunch, take a blanket to sit on and just enjoy the views. And the great thing about Liverpool is that there are so many beaches to choose from. There’s Crosby Beach, Formby Beach and nearby Southport Beach just outside of Liverpool. Alternatively, if you don’t like the beach, a trip to Calderstones Park can give you an equally brilliant day.
